About RealMahjong

Learn real mahjong online — free, for English-speaking beginners

What is RealMahjong?

RealMahjong is a free online multiplayer Mahjong platform built for English-speaking players who want to learn and play real mahjong. No simplified rules, no Americanized variants — just authentic Mahjong with clear English guidance.

Complete beginners are welcome. The game walks you through every step: tile exchange, choosing your void suit, discarding, Pong, Kong, and winning. An AI assistant answers any rules or strategy question in plain English, right in the middle of a game.

The Game

The primary game is Sichuan Blood Battle Mahjong (Xue Zhan Dao Di) — the most widely played regional Mahjong variant in China. It is fast-paced, strategic, and uniquely social: when one player wins, the round does not end. Everyone keeps playing until all players have won or the tile wall runs out.

Other variants are also available, including Hong Zhong (Red Dragon), Tui Dao Hu, Cantonese, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Guizhou, and more.

Our Mission

Mahjong is one of the most played games in the world — but for English speakers, it has always been hard to get into. Confusing tile names, regional rule differences, and the lack of English resources make it feel inaccessible.

RealMahjong exists to fix that. We want anyone curious about Chinese Mahjong to be able to sit down, learn, and play a real game within minutes.
